We were thrilled to be invited along to celebrate International Nurses’ Day by the South Warwickshire Clinical Commissioning Group. The group are made up of 35 member GP groups, so it was wonderful to pop along and reward the hard-working nurses.
International Nurses’ Day is always held on May 12 in celebration of Florence Nightingale’s birthday. Each year a service is held in Westminster Abbey and across the nation many local NHS and trusts celebrate the often unsung work that these champions provide.
Nursing staff really are the superheroes of health care and in especially turbulent times for the NHS we felt privileged to show our support in the best way we could. We gave hand massages which also gave us the chance to chat, which made us realise how lucky we are in Warwickshire to have such a supportive and knowledgeable group taking care of us, our family and friends.
It felt amazing to be able to help this group relax a little bit and for once let us do the work. They are so very deserving.
Thank you so much for having us, it was an inspirational day.
